Alex

Business Development Manager

When, why and from where did you join Bright Futures Resourcing?

I joined Bright Futures in 2009 following a Bsc at The University of Exeter and a stint at Global GPS.
I knew that Simon was well connected in various different industries and therefore approached him when looking to change role.
Armed with a copy of my CV and following a meeting at the Bright Futures Headquarters, Simon went one step further than placing me in a role and offered me a position at Bright Futures.
Having met with Simon and discussed the business in some detail, it was an offer that I chose to accept.

Bright Futures Resourcing couldn’t live without me because...

My role at Bright Futures is focussed around ensuring that we recruit the very best candidates for our clients. I am also responsible for ensuring that our corporate investors are getting the best results possible out of their involvement with our career-focussed student society.

I am also heavily involved in business development at Bright Futures. This entails making companies aware of the great many benefits of working with the different divisions of our organisation, and, where applicable, co-ordinating the business development team’s effort towards this goal.

Three interesting things we might not know about you...

1. I was regional left handed Darts champion in 2006-07 for the South of England
2. I hold the current world record for the most golf balls retrieved from the bottom of a 25m swimming pool in one breath.
3. I am a prolific liar.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 5 items would you take with you...

If I knew I was going to be stranded I would be unlikely to undertake the journey, if I was unaware, I would probably have about my person the usual things I carry when travelling which include:

-My digital camera
-Some ambitiously low-factor sun cream
-A pair of flip-flops
-A foodstuff that would not normally be deemed portable
-A mildly exaggerated story from the previous destination

Describe yourself in the style of a drink...

Champagne, as I am largely over-rated and seem to crop up in bad form at almost every social event going.

If someone gave me £100,000 I would spend it on...

Numerous years’ worth of Bright Futures corporate membership and I would suggest all readers harbouring such amounts do the same!
